Our marine facilities provide members & non members with convenient access to jetties and slipways for vessel maintenance, loading, and general boating activities.
Designed to support both short-term use and longer maintenance projects, the facilities offer practical, well-maintained infrastructure right on the water.
Jetties
The club operates two jetties, providing flexible access for members needing to berth their vessels for maintenance, short-term stays, or loading and unloading passengers and supplies.
The jetties are ideal for:
- Short-term berthing
- Vessel maintenance and preparation
- Loading and unloading equipment or passengers
- Easy access to the water from the club grounds
For added convenience, a jetty crane is available for light lifting and unloading tasks when required.
Main Jetty
Members: $27.50 p/d up to 7 days
$44 p/d thereafter
Non-members: $55 p/d up to 7 days
$88 p/d thereafter
Secondary Jetty
Members: $11 p/d
Non-members: $22 p/d
Pontoon
Members: $10 p/d
Non-members: $20 p/d
Jetty Crane
Members: $100 per use

Slipways
Our slipway facilities allow members to safely haul vessels from the water for cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
The club operates two slipways to accommodate different vessel sizes:
- Large slipway – rated up to 13 tonnes
- Small slipway – rated up to 3 tonnes
The slipways provide a practical and cost-effective option for:
- Hull cleaning and anti-fouling
- Routine maintenance and inspections
- Minor repairs and upkeep
Haul Out
Members: $220 (includes return to water)
Non-Members: $440 (includes return to water)
Daily Slipyard Rate
Members: $30.00 p/d up to 7 days
$44 p/d thereafter
Non-members: $60 p/d up to 7 days
$88 p/d thereafter
Pressure washer hire
Members: $38.50 per use
Non-members: $77 per use
Scaffolding Hire – Free of Charge
Harness Hire – Free of Charge
Maintenance Support
To support maintenance work, the club provides several useful on-site resources including:
- Club-supplied scaffolding and ladders
- Sump pump system for wash downs and cleaning
- A designated working area for vessel maintenance
These facilities make it easier for members to safely complete maintenance tasks while keeping the surrounding marine environment protected.
Please note – users are required to where hi-viz & tethers when working at heights (supplied). Hot metal work & spray painting are not permitted.
Secure Kayak & Dinghy Storage for Members
Members of the Club enjoy access to secure, well‑maintained storage for kayaks, dinghies, and stand‑up paddleboards, making it easier than ever to get out on the water. Our lockable storage options provide a safe and convenient solution for members who want reliable access to their craft without transporting equipment each visit. This dedicated storage ensures your gear remains protected while giving you the freedom to launch quickly and enjoy more time on the bay
A Warm Welcome to Cruising Boaties
Cruising in Hobart? We’re delighted to welcome you to the Geilston Bay Boat Club — a friendly, convenient stopover for boaties exploring the Derwent River and beyond.
As a visiting cruiser, you’ll have access to jetty berthing, slipway facilities, and secure, lockable storage for dinghies, making it easy to get ashore and enjoy your stay.
You’ll also find fresh water available at the club, and essentials like groceries and a laundromat are only a quick 10-15‑minute Uber ride away — perfect for restocking or refreshing during your journey. And when you need fuel, Prince of Wales Bay Marina & the Motor Yacht Club Of Lindisfarne are both just a hop, skip, and a jump from the club, keeping your cruising plans running smoothly.
Whether you’re stopping in for a night or settling in for a few days, we’re here to make your visit comfortable, easy, and welcoming.
